A wide, open sound. On guitar, the third is almost always omitted in practice as it clashes with the eleventh (a semitone apart). The fifth is also commonly omitted.

Read the string pattern 3–4–4–2 from the G string to the A string. Numbers in the pattern are frets; numbers in the colored dots are left-hand fingers. 0 means an open string and X means a muted string.
