How it works

Chords and transposition

Every song shows its chords inline. Change the key from the toolbar above the song — chords recalculate instantly. Hover a chord to see its fingering; click the diagram to open the chord encyclopedia with fingerings, notes and variations for guitar, ukulele and piano.

Songbooks

Add a song to a songbook with the "Save" button in the bar above the song. Without an account it goes to My songbook in this browser; once you sign in, the songs move to a songbook in your account. Signed-in users can build as many songbooks as they like (the "Add to / remove from songbook" item in the ••• menu does the same). You can also remove a song with the bin icon next to it on the songbook page. Share a songbook by link — the recipient sees all public songs plus your own, including drafts. Each song in a songbook can keep its own transposition and capo.

Auto-scroll

Start "Auto-scroll" on a song page. Constant scrolling moves the page at your chosen speed; auto-scroll by singing listens through the microphone and keeps the line you are singing on screen. By default, recognition runs on your device; if you choose the battery saver (online) mode, your browser's own speech recognition is used and the browser may send audio to its vendor.

The first run downloads a recognition model, which your device then keeps for later. Which one depends on the language of the lyrics: Czech and English lyrics each use a dedicated model for that language (~65 MB each), lyrics in other languages a multilingual one. For the multilingual model you also pick a size — standard (~230 MB) downloads faster, more accurate (~600 MB) follows singing more reliably.

Tuner

Before you play, tune your guitar or ukulele right in the browser. The tuner listens through the microphone, measures pitch to within one cent, and the all-strings mode checks the whole tuning with a single open strum. You will find it in the left menu and in the toolbar on every song page.

The Chords section covers over a thousand chords for guitar, ukulele and piano: diagrams, fingerings, notes, alternate shapes and audio playback.
