FThe first day I got me a fuel pump
And the Bnext day I got me an engine and a trunk

FThe little things I could get in my big lunch box
Like Bnuts and bolts and all four shocks
C7But the big stuff we snuck out in my buddy's mobile Fhome
FNow up to now my plan went alright
Till we Btried to put it all together one night
And C7that's when we noticed that something was definitely Fwrong
FThe transmission was a '53
And the Bmotor turned out to be a '73
And C7when we tried to put in the bolts all the holes were Fgone
FSo we drilled it out so that it would fit
And with a little Bbit of help from an adapter kit
We C7had that engine running just like a Fsong
FNow the headlights they was another sight
We had Btwo on the left and one on the right
But C7when we pulled out the switch all three of 'em come Fon
FThe back end looked kind of funny too
But we Bput it together and when we got through
Well C7that's when we noticed that we only had one tail Ffin
FAbout that time my wife walked out
And I could Bsee in her eyes that she had her doubts
But she C7opened the door and said honey take me for a Fspin
FSo we drove uptown just to get the tags
And I Bheaded her right on down main drag
I could C7hear everybody laughing for blocks Faround
FBut up there at the courthouse they didn't laugh
Cause to Btype it up it took the whole staff
And when C7they got through the title weighed sixty Fpounds
I got it one piece at a time and it Bdidn't cost me a dime
